Terms of Hire

Vintage China and Country Chic Hire terms and conditions

Our standard hire period is 1-4 days, all deliveries and collection dates will be agreed upon your booking. An extension to the hire period can be accommodated where possible but must be agreed at the time of your booking, additional hire days are charged at £10.00 per day. We would be happy to discuss your requirements.

Orders under £100 require collection and return to Pretty Pieces Perfect Days. We will look to accommodate deliveries and collections where possible, quotes can be provided dependent on distance.

All orders over £100 can be collected and returned to Pretty Pieces Perfect Days or we offer a delivery and collection service and at an additional charge.

Our minimum hire order is £50.00.

We offer an event styling service based on your requirements, please contact us for a quote.

Upon delivery you will be required to inspect and sign for the goods. Whoever signs for the delivery is deemed to be authorised to do so i.e the hirer or the venue. Once the goods have been signed for they are deemed to have been delivered in a clean and undamaged condition.

Please note that the goods remain your responsibility until they have been collected or delivered back to Pretty Pieces Perfect Days. All hire goods are to be returned in their original packaging and packed carefully and securely following our guidelines which will be provide.

Our china is very delicate so please handle with care. Should there be any breakages/lost items upon collection/return of the goods there is a charge per item, please note this would include cracks and chips to the china. The costs per item are detailed below:

  • £5.00 per china items (cups, saucers, tea plates, sugar bowls, milk jugs, glass cream bowl)
  • £12.00 per glass Jam pot with lid
  • £8.00 sandwich and cake plates
  • £25.00 per 2 tier china cake stand
  • £35.00 per 3 tier china cake stand
  • £45.00 per china tea pot
  • £2.00 per teaspoons and cake forks
  • £4.00 per sugar tongs

Breakage costs for all other item will be advised directly.

All our china is vintage therefore you may see some slight signs of wear for example the gilt edges, this is very common on vintage china and adds to the appeal, however all our china is free from chips and cracks.

Should there be a delay in you having the goods available for us to collect or when you return the items which will be agreed at the time of the booking an additional charge of 25% of your total hire charge per day.

We endeavor to collect and deliver your order at the specified times agreed at the time of your booking however we will not be liable for any loss arising directly or indirectly from any delay in the delivery or collection of the goods.

All china delivered will be clean and ready to use. When returning the items we provide 2 options, a washing up service is available at 15% of the total crockery and cutlery hire all we would ask is for you to remove all excess food.

Alternatively you may wash up yourself. Please note that the crockery and cutlery must be washed by hand and cannot be put in a dishwasher or any other commercial machine. Our crockery is more fragile than commercial catering crockery and it is your responsibility to inform your caterer/venue of this to ensure minimal breakages. Please take extra care when handling, stacking, washing up and re packing the crockery. If we feel that the crockery and cutlery has not been cleaned to our satisfaction we reserve the right to make a surcharge for additional cleaning. This additional cleaning will be charged at a further 15% of the total hire of the crockery and cutlery.

Payments

Orders totaling less than £100.00 must be paid in full at the time of booking to secure the order.

Orders over £100.00 require a 50% deposit at the time of booking to secure the order, this will be deducted from your final invoice. Your deposit is non refundable.

If the required delivery date is within 4 weeks of placing your order the total invoice payment is required at this time.

The balance of the invoice (including delivery/collection and set up charges) is due for payment 4 weeks prior to the goods being dispatched.

Payment methods are cheque or direct bank transfer, please note a cheque payment would need to be cleared 2 weeks before your event.

If the balance payment is not received we reserve the right to withdraw our acceptance of your order. No delivery will be made without receipt of the cleared balance.

No refunds or credits will be issued for any goods that are returned unused.

Breakage Deposit

A breakage deposit of 25% of the total hire cost or a minimum of £25.00 must also be provided with the balance payment 4 weeks prior to the dispatch of the goods. We require this as a separate cheque which will not be cashed and will be returned within 10 working days once items under hire are checked and returned safely and promptly with no breakages.

The breakage deposit will only be cashed should a breakage or missing item occur. The remaining breakage deposit minus any deductions will be returned within 10 working days of confirmation with the hirer of the amount due.

The replacement cost of any breakages will be deducted from this deposit. We will notify you of any breakages/items missing upon return to Pretty Pieces Perfect Days. Unfortunately we are unable to accept substitute items, we would also ask that any damaged goods are returned to Pretty Pieces Perfect Days.

Cancellation and Charges

If, for any reason, you wish to cancel your order you should contact us on 07503 837363 in the first instance. All cancellations, or reductions in numbers of items to be hired, must then be confirmed in writing and will only become effective on receipt of your cancellation email or letter.

If cancellation occurs all deposits are non refundable.

Further charges:

  • Cancellations made more than 4 weeks prior to the date of delivery  – No Charge
  • Cancellation made less than 4 weeks prior to the date of delivery – 50% of the balance owing.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the delivery date will be charged 100% of the balance owing.

 

Liabilities

We shall not be responsible for any injury or damage to persons or property arising from the use of any goods under hire from Pretty Pieces Perfect Days.
We have the right to change our terms and conditions at any times.
